A Move You Should Do MONDAY – Carioca
Yes, you should sing at least once a day to your favorite tune, but that is called karaoke. This week’s exercise is carioca stepping and it involves stepping sideways while you alternate crossing one leg in front and then crossing it in back. Find the longest hallway in your house and give it a try.
Why does this matter?
Doing this simple step mobilizes the one of the most important joints of your body, the hip joint. Due to it’s ball and socket orientation, the hips stay mobile when you rotate them. And cross-stepping is one of the best ways to prevent falling. The safest walkers are those that are able to easily cross-step and cross reach.
So give the carioca step a try. And while you’re at it, turn up the volume on your favorite tune and sing at the top of your lungs. Carioca to karaoke. That sounds like a great way to start your day.
Because nobody has time to be in pain.
Until next time…

Kind Regards,
