Welcome to the MoveWell Academy

There are moments in my life when I take pause at the intricacies of my journey. I’ve once read that if we had God’s insight and could see our life from beginning to end, we wouldn’t change a thing. There have been times in my life where I didn’t believe that. But then there are the moments of clarity. The ones where you find yourself standing in a place that could not have been possible had it not been for all the little twists and turns your journey had taken.

This is one of those moments.

I am thrilled to announce the launch of the MoveWell Academy, an educational portal to help navigate the “why?” behind the what of orthopedic injuries. It will be a place where I write about what I’ve learned in my 33+ years of clinical practice and share the importance of understanding how our body is designed.

For the seasoned clinician, you will find ideas and inspiration in helping solve difficult orthopedic problems. For the PT or PTA student, enhance your learning by making anatomy and kinesiology come to life. Find out why things matter. Why we memorize origin and insertion and why trigger points matter. Learn about different manual therapy techniques and why and when to use them.

And for the person who is in pain, the information will empower you to ask the right questions and seek out the solution to your problem.

There are short seminars for anyone, but physical therapists can get CEU’s (I will add a new one every month), information about my mentorship program, an Ask Sherry section and (my favorite) our blog where I will be adding things weekly for you to think about.

The design of the human body is so amazing and even though I’ve been at it a long time, I learn something new every day from my work with my patients and my continued study. I hope you check it out and share it with someone who might benefit. It would mean a lot to me. Because nobody has time to be in pain.
